In 2003, Jeff Davidson decided to leave his software development position at Intel in California and move back to South Florida to start a business. He contacted Edward Steinberg, a business mogul who retired after selling his company to an NYSE company. Eddie invited Jeff to dinner and brought a bottle of Bordeaux.
With Eddie's guidance, Jeff's company began providing credit card processing services to local businesses.
The mentorship continued, and Jeff's company grew, expanding the clientele from South Florida to nationwide.
Every year from 2003 through 2008, Jeff's company experienced consistent growth.
Eddie and Jeff continued meeting for dinner on a monthly basis, and Eddie continued bringing bottles of Bordeaux. In April 2008, the question arose on how to take the business to the next level. Jeff said "Eddie, you successfully built and sold your company and fully retired at 50. How do I get from here to there?"
With most of the bottle consumed, Eddie responded "Jeff, I have traveled the world as many times as I want to travel it and I don't want my life predicated on hitting golf balls. How would you like to be equal business partners and build a monster together?"
Eddie and Jeff toasted over the last of the wine and officially embarked on the journey of Velocity Processing on April 28, 2008. It was the beginning of the perfect business partnership. Today the company is one of Elavon's top MSP offices and continues to expand into new markets.
