Authorize.Net defaults their accounts to Test Mode. This enables you to run transactions in a test environment, confirm your connection to the payment gateway, and view how the system reacts to your settings.
You MUST change the Test Mode settings from "Test" to "Live" to process real transactions. Transactions submitted while the account is in Test mode are NOT actually processed.
Instructions for updating the test mode settings can be found below in the Account Configuration Guide section.
You should change the test mode setting to "Live" after you have reviewed the Account Configuration Guide below, updated your account settings, and tested your API credentials, if applicable.
How do i get there ?
Log into your Authorize.Net gateway account. From the home screen, click on "Account" in the upper right-hand corner. This will take you to the "Settings" page. Scroll to the bottom and you will see " Time Zone " on the bottom right-hand side of the page under "Business Settings".
Update the Time Zone
Click on the "Time Zone" link and you will see a dropdown box to select your current time zone. Select the appropriate time zone and then click on the "Submit" button
System Response
You will see the following message: "System Time Zone setting has been successfully applied".
Return to Settings
To return to the Settings page, click on the "Return to Settings" link.
How do I get there?
Log into your Authorize.Net gateway account. From the home screen, click on "Account" in the upper right-hand corner. This will take you to the "Settings" page. Scroll to the bottom and you will see "Transaction Cut-Off Time" on the bottom left-hand side of the page under "Business Settings".
Update the Transaction Cut-Off Time
Important: Velocity Processing recommends that you select a transaction cut-off date no later than 7:30 PM EST to ensure that you receive your deposit on the next business day (i.e., next day funding).
The existing transaction cut-off time will be displayed in the middle of the page. At the bottom of the page, there are dropdowns for "Hour", "Minute", and "AM/PM". Click on each of these boxes to select the new transaction cut-off time. After selecting the new transaction cut-off time, click on the "Submit" button.
System Response
You will see the following message: "Cut-Off Time setting has been successfully applied."
Return to Settings
To return to the Settings page, click on the "Return to Settings" link.

Update the Enhanced Card Code Verification options
Important: Velocity Processing recommends that you select "Authorize And Hold For Review" for all four (4) scenarios. This will allow transactions to be approved, despite the card code verification issues, and you can approve or decline them upon review. Each business has different operational needs and risk tolerances, so your settings may vary from our recommendations. Please contact our office or Authorize.Net customer support if you need additional assistance regarding the enhanced card code verification settings.

Important: Velocity Processing recommends that you select "Authorize And Hold For Review" for all six (6) scenarios under "General AVS Responses and the first four (4) scenarios under Address and ZIP Code Responses. The last scenario under Address and ZIP Code Responses can be set to "Allow", as most transactions are processed with a 5-digit zip code in lieu of a 9-digit zip code. This will allow transactions to be approved, despite the address verification response issues, and you can approve or decline them upon review. Each business has different operational needs and risk tolerances, so your settings may vary from our recommendations. System Response
The slide bar will indicate whether your account is in Test or Live mode. If the account is in Test mode, you will see an orange bar across the top of your screen indicating that Your account is in TEST MODE. For more information or guidance on Test Mode, contact Authorize.Net technical support.

Important: Please familiarize yourself with the functionality of API Credentials & Keys before using them in a live environment.

How do I get there?
Log into your Authorize.Net gateway account. From the home screen, click on "Account" in the upper right-hand corner, then click on "User Administration on the dfar left-hand side of the page. This will take you to the "User Administration" page. The first user listed will be the Account Owner. Just above the "Name" column heading, you can click on the "Add User" link to add additional users. The user roles are:
Account Owner
An Account Owner is the top level user, has irrevocable access to all features of the Merchant Interface, and manages all other user accounts. Only an Account Owner can create another Account Owner.
Account Administrator
By default, an Account Administrator has all Merchant Interface permissions except for the ability to enable or disable payment gateway services or manage Account Owner user accounts.
Transaction Manager
By default, a Transaction Manager can perform all transaction processing functions in the Merchant Interface.
Account Analyst
By default, an Account Analyst can only view and download Merchant Interface statements and reports.
Account Contact
An Account Contact does not have access to the Merchant Interface and is created solely to receive account notification e-mails.

Return to Settings
